You're so right to note that our "recipe" for making your own self-rising flour is 1 Cup all-purpose flour + 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder + 1/4 teaspoon salt. If you're looking for self rising baked goods that are softer to the touch or more tender in texture, consider using the pastry flour to make your substitute.
