Hello, I, too had problems with the scoring of my loaves. I was slashing very quickly thinking that would keep the loaf from deflating.
Well, it didn’t. It also tore and dragged the dough instead of slicing nicely. I had some good luck using my serrated bread knife to make the cuts, but I have gone to slowly advancing the lame and that has been very successful for me. My cuts spread out nicely during the baking and my loaves come out beautiful.
