Hi there, Kim! We're glad you enjoyed the flavor of the buns but are sorry to hear that the texture wasn't quite right. Most often when a yeasted bread turns out with a biscuit-like texture, it's because the dough was a bit under-kneaded. We'd recommend kneading the dough until it's smooth on the surface and have a nice bouncy feel to it when you gently press on it. We hope this helps for future baking adventures!
