Is there an alternative cooking method if you don't have a crock pot? Perhaps, a dutch oven in the oven? Or simmer on top of the stove? I think my sons would love this. Another baker said she cooked her bacon jam on the stovetop for about 45 minutes on simmer. Give that a try. ~ MaryJane
