I got some starter from a friend a few days ago. I read your instructions for room temperature feeding. Every 12 hours I have been feeding it the flour and water. Then my friend that gave it to me asked if I had been discarding any down to 1/2c starter at each feeding. I am confused the discarding part. Do you just throw everything but 1/2c of the starter at every feeding time? Because the instructions here just say to feed it twice a day, nothing about the discarding twice a day. Thanks!
