Sheryl, it's true that bakers differ in their approach to the hooch; but while the new flour does add new life to your starter, we wouldn't expect that you'd see much in the way of bubbles after just one feeding if it the starter was dead. Starting anew would take much longer to become fully active. Hope this helps! Mollie@KAF
