Hi Nori, I went to reply to your comment earlier, and I lost it! Glad I found you know. I would say yes, switch over to bottled water and try sterilizing your tools. Once you have those pesky harmful bacteria out of the way, you should see a lovely, spot-free starter. ~ MJ
