I've found that when I add 1/2 cup water (bottled) and 1 cup flour, my starter becomes much thicker than the one seen here.
Furthermore, when trying to bake the Rustic Sourdough Bread, I end up with like an extra cup of flour that won't knead it. I am kneading by hand, but the dough feels really dry, and ends up super dense. I would love advice on how to correct my mistakes!
