long story short, my starter got seriously neglected to the point where there is no liquid at all, it has been absorbed or dried up. There is a blackish ring around the jar - not sure if this is just residue from the dried up hooch as I know that can be a blackish color. But as I said there is no liquid. Do you think it can be revived or should I just toss it and start over? If I do try and revive it, how will I know if it is safe? just follow the no pink or red clues?
