If I have extra "fed" starter, I use an ice cream scoop to put quarter-cup portions of it into individual plastic zip-top snack bags and put them into a larger bag and freeze them. You can take them out one at a time, let it come to room temperature, invert the bag contents into a glass container, and feed the thawed starter. I have been doing this for years, and it works very well.
