If you are planning to make a loaf of yeast bread then you will need to use a fed starter. A starter is considered "fed" about 8-12 hours after you have discarded and added water and flour. After this time, it will slowly become less active until it finally becomes "unfed", I like to think of it as a hungry starter. Jon@KAF
