can you substitute whole wheat flour for all purpose flour for the regular feeding of the starter? Sure, whole wheat flour is fine to use, but you will need to add about a tablespoon of extra water. ~Amy Mike, you'll end up with a different starter, and one that's much more susceptible to "bad" bacteria. You can feed with ww flour, but watch your starter carefully at all times; and try not to keep it at room temperature any longer than necessary. PJH
