What does cover loosely mean? With a fitted lid not quite snapped? Or with a cloth? Doesn’t the starter have to be exposed to air? Also, for step one, when I mix one cup of rye flour with a half cup f water, it is not nearly as liquid as in your photo. It’s basically a ball. More water?
