I have admittedly not read the whole comment thread but the suggestion to leave water sitting uncovered overnight or to boil and let cool is no longer the best advice to dechlorinate water. Many municipalities are using chloramine which is much more stable and can’t be removed by these methods. Charcoal filtration or the use of sodium or potassium metabisulfate is the way to dechlorinate water treated with chloramines.
