Hi Carina. Welcome to the wonderful realm of sourdough! If you're feeding the 4 oz OF starter with the cup of flour and 4 oz of water, it will be a total of about 1 1/2 cups of starter, which will comfortably fit in a 1 qt vessel. It sounds like your starter is very healthy and active, which is great!
Based on your wording, it seems like you might be discarding the 4 oz, and feeding what's leftover which would progressively become a considerably larger amount, which would definitely need a bigger container. But, if you stick with 4 oz of starter, flour, and water, the 2 qt container you're using will be perfect. If you have any additional questions, we encourage you to reach out to our friendly Baker's Hotline staff at 855-371-2253. Happy sourdough baking! Annabelle@KAF
