Thanks, Mollie! The difference is that my seed starter is never out of the fridge for 6-10 hours. It never leaves its jar (unless I decide the jar needs cleaning in which case I rotate it into a fresh jar). I pour out what I need for the recipe, then feed my original and put it back in the fridge. I may let it sit out a little bit to start munching before I return it to the fridge, but not for more than an hour or two.
