Not to worry, Heather, if your starter is bubbling and growing at all, then it's active! There may be other factors that are holding it back from reaching its peak activity (getting a heavy cup of flour in the mix, for example), but if you want to switch up your water, just go ahead and start doing that in your next feeding. After a few feedings, the amount of chlorinated water left in the starter will be negligible. Mollie@KAF
