Bruce, I do not see failure in your starter future! You can let it bubble and feed in your oven with the light on--that tends to be a pretty happy place. You can also put it on top of your dryer, or crack out the duster and clean off the freezer maybe? Tap into your creativity, you'll find a warm place up there in Maine. Happy baking, Bryanna@KAF
