I initially had problems with my first starter but it was because my kitchen was just too cold this past winter. I'm not sure it ever got above 68F in February. Anyway, I started another batch in early March and by day 10 was getting pretty impatient. No sign whatsoever of doubling, let alone any rising, though there were some bubbles. I did read on here that it could take a number of days to establish. I fed as usual on the night of day 11 and on the morning of day 12 there was a little miracle! It had doubled in volume and was quite bubbly! Very exciting. I've continued feeding for a few more days before using so that it really gets established and am making my first loaf today :)
