Saba, so long as you keep feeding your starter regularly (once a week is optimal, though you can stretch it out to once a month), it will stay healthy indefinitely, so long as you store it in the fridge. Starter stored at room temperature is much more finicky and "needy," and has to be fed more often, so if you'r enot baking with it practically every day, I'd leave it in the fridge.
