Donna, I hear you; your Polish cookbook is definitely a good source for traditional Polish recipes. But I believe there are as many "traditional" babka recipes as there are Polish grandmas! This recipe has no doubt evolved over time; I based it on one in our 200th Anniversary Cookbook, which was very well researched by author Brinna Sands. So, while it may not match your babka experience, I'm betting it comes close to that of some other Polish families. Enjoy your Easter babka! PJH
