Some pies are supposed to have a cracked top. Both Shoofly Pie and Vanilla Pie--though made in two layers, not one--have cracked tops. Some of the bottom filling oozes out over the topping and creates cracks. Wow, I've never had Vanilla Pie - sounds fabulous. Do you have a recipe, Laura? PJH
