They taste perfect, just like the mall kind. The only surprise was how long it took to make them into the long ropes. Like forEVER! I never did get them to be 28-30" long as the recipe called for. I think 21" was my longest. I have no clue but I rolled the you know what out of them and was worried I'd make them tough if I kept handling them. The only thing I did differently was I had no bread flour so I used AP. However, confusingly, the recipe calls for bread flour and I didn't want to waste my time if they'd end up being a disaster so I read all the comments. Several times people asked if they could substitute BREAD flour for AP. So, I'm guessing originally the recipe called for AP and was changed. Next time, I'll try with bread to see if that makes the difference. Also, the printed recipe has slight variations from the step-by-step directions. ie resting the dough in rough logs as opposed to resting after dividing into 8ths. I weighed mine, too, and they were exactly 70 grams a piece so it wasn't that I didn't have enough dough. Any thoughts on why my ropes wouldn't stretch any longer?
