Thank you for this wonderful looking recipe and all the comments following. I too remember these large soft pretzels from Philadelphia. I lived in NJ, but worked in Philly. I can't wait to try them. I also remember another item we used to get every morning from a small shop close to work. They were called Tea Cakes, a small sweet biscuit or cake which of course we drank with hot tea.
