It seems the KAF bakers are really keeping me busy. Tomorrow I'm making the yellow cake........Friday is bread baking day so I may as well give this a try. Looks like the perfect bread for homemade applesauce. When I was young my mother also made her bread and it was a treat for us to be given the heel of the loaf slathered with fresh butter and sprinkled with brown sugar. We are Franco/American in this household and of course I thought this treat must be french. Also my mother couldn't make a sandwich without putting butter on one side and some other condiment on the other. How about you? We usually had butter on one piece of bread, mustard on the other, and filling in between. How about you, readers? PJH
