Most often when cookies don't spread as expected it's because a tad too much flour snuck its way into the mixing bowl — we recommend either using a kitchen scale to weigh your ingredients or using the [fluff and sprinkle technique](https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/videos/baking-skills/how-to-measure-flour) for measuring flour in volume. The dough should be scoop-able but not too soft, the scooped cookie dough should hold its shape when placed on the baking sheet. Another reason the cookies might not have spread is if the oven temperature was too low. We hope this can helps for future baking adventures!
