chopping and then freezing basil in ice cube trays with water works beautifully. Toss them in a freezer baggie. And I've found some hiding from several years ago. Frost had built up, but I broke off a couple and found they were still pretty fresh! Parsley freezes extremely well this way. Fresh young dill I just throw in baggies and let it freeze, then take out when I need dill weed.
