Good question, Joan. We haven't found great success in making rye bread in a bread machine, as it tends to come out on the dense side. You're welcome to adapt our 100% Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread for the Bread Machine recipe and experiment using rye flour for up to 50% of the flour in the recipe. You may also find a recipe or instructions on making rye bread in the manual of your bread machine once it arrives. We can understand the desire to keep the oven off, so if the experiments don't pan out the way you hope, rye bread may have to wait for cooler weather. Annabelle@KAF
