What a surprise seeing this in my e-mail today. My mother made this exact pie when I was growing up in the 1960's. We all loved it. There is something about the combination of ingredients, especially the strudel topping, and the baking method that make an exceptional pie. I could never find her recipe for this after she passed away. Thank you so much for bringing back a childhood favorite. We are glad to have created a reunion here! :) ~Amy
