I loved reading these ideas about using a cast iron pan, but can you give me some counsel regarding the care and treatment of a cast iron pan. Mine, which I have had for many years doesn't hold the "seasoned" finish. I have always thought that you cannot use soap the clean the pan, is that true? I have "seasoned" it by rubbing it with oil then putting it in the oven for a long time on a low temperature. But this is a bit putzy and seems I have to do it often. I would appreciate some instruction.
