PJ, I make these all of the time! My family loves them, and I use the same recipe without any changes in my waffle iron with rave reviews! I usually warm up some grade B Vermont maple syrup with a cinnamon stick in it and pour it over top. I have also added pumpkin pie spice to the batter and they turn out wonderful! One question though, my kids want chocolate chip waffles and when I make them, the chocolate ends up burning. Is there a way to help prevent burnt chocolate? The best way to prevent any burning, be it blueberries, raspberries or chocolate, is to pour some batter in the iron, then sprinkle in fruit or chocolate, then drizzle the rest of the batter over the top so they are buried in the batter and protected from the iron.
