Made these definitely beautiful buns yesterday. They are a big hit. The only change I made was to reduce the sugar to 2 Tbs since we prefer a less sweet hamburger bun. I used my bread to to the mixing and it worked perfectly. It produced nice soft, springy dough. My buns looked exactly like your pictures at all the stages. Amazing! My husband was totally impressed! He said it was the best bun he had ever had, and I totally agree. The buns are tender, but substantial - they hold up to a big, juicy burger with plenty of toppings. (Personally, I hate buns that collapse and get soggy.) I am going to make hot dog buns next time. Can hardly wait. Thanks King Arthur, for a great recipe! Sounds like you're a natural!
