What a beautiful pie! Thanks for making the effort to make the recipe accessible with alternatives to KA products. If I were to make pastry cream from scratch, how much of it should be used in the recipe? Thanks! Depending on how full you want to fill your crust, I'd say you'll use at least 3 cups. ~ MaryJane
