We're sorry to hear that your pastries didn't turn out quite right, Farah! It sounds like they needed to bake for a bit longer to finish setting the structure and prevent them from collapsing as they cooled. The eggy flavor is interesting, we wonder if the eggs in the top layer needed to be mixed into the paste more so they were fully combined. We hope this can help for future baking adventures!
