Stephanie, apples are a favorite here and instead of apple jam you can saute apples in a little butter and perhaps some brown sugar depending on how sweet you want it. A little cinnamon and a bit of brandy or rum for flavor. Cook until thick and syrupy. And toasted English walnuts instead of almonds. The flavor of autumn. Skip the drizzle.
