Made these with KA whole wheat flour, no added ingreds as I didn't have anything except SD starter discard, flour, water, and salt and forgot to add the yeast! But! They are the bomb! They didn't get very brown; we brushed them with sugar water then sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on 1/2 and salt on the others.

Next time I might boil them to get them a little darker and chewier, but just as they are they are wonderful! And I'm going to look into the non-diastatic malt, and hopefully remember to add the yeast! :) Thanks for the great recipe!
