My husband made his mother's recipe for these last night. Hers were fantastic - his - are a bit chewy. He's quite pleased with having duplicated her recipe. I loved hers as they had a crisp, "crunch" to them with the sugary coating. His are soft and to me not the ones I remember. What could be the problem?
