I am having a total failure with these rolls and I am wondering if it is because my yeast did not activate. The recipe calls for instant yeast and COOL water in the starter, and then LUKEWARM water in the dough. My packet of instant yeast states that it requires a temperature of 110 to 115 degrees to dissolve in liquids, or 120 to 130 if the yeast is blended with dry ingredients. That is hardly cool or even “lukewarm”.
Can you comment or clarify please? Is this really supposed to work with instant yeast and cool water?
