OK, so if the dog on Cracker Jacks is Bingo, and the guy he's with is a sailor, did Bingo run away from the farmer in the song? Yeah, I know: it's about the icing. But I get distracted... (Anything to avoid marking papers.) Oh, I remember those days. It must be report card season soon, eh? My guess is that Sailor Jack is the son of the farmer, and he went to sea for his country and took his faithful doggie. Sounds like a good story to me, anyway. ~ MaryJane
