I don't have any maple syrup on hand, due to the fact I dropped it on the steps last summer, so I feel a bacon buttie coming on! (To those who have no idea what I'm on about, it is a sandwich made with soft fresh bread, buttered, with crispy bacon in it. Usually drizzled with HP brown sauce). The brown sauce is peculiar to the UK, a bit like BBQ sauce but not so sweet.
