I am curious about one thing: I took a class in making croissants at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris a number of years ago. The chef/teacher said to leave the croissants straight. He said (and I am sure this was a joke) that curving the ends indicated they were made with margarine! Anyway, I don't remember seeing any curved croissants when we have visited France.
