I am so excited to make these! My friend's birthday party is coming up and we are having a picnic, so this will be a perfect addition! I have a couple of questions, though... first of all, I have made meringues a couple times before, and found them to be too sweet. Could I reduce the sugar to about 3/4 cup without impacting the texture at all? Also, I definitely want to make these with the maple sugar like the original recipe, but I also wanted to try them a second time with coconut sugar, which has a nice malty taste. Could I make meringues with coconut sugar, or would that not dissolve into the meringue properly? I love all of your blog posts and delicious recipes. Thank you so much!
