The recipe looks great, but that's not why I wanted to comment. I completely understand the pick-me-up factor Tracy experienced. I grew up in a pretty busy family that always seemed to be on the go. But from time to time, my mom and I would bake together, so baking became another way to say "I love you." The kitchen (and dining room, since we didn't have much counter space) are the hosts to a lot of happy memories. I couldn't agree with you more.
