My French Canadian grandmother taught my Irish mother how to make the delicious meat pie that is a family favorite. We use just pork cooked with garlic and onion. The same amount of mashed potatoes is added to the meat and seasoned with Bell's seasoning, salt and pepper and put in a pie crust. We eat ours with ketchup, served warm for breakfast and with dinner on Christmas and New Years. I make it for Thanksgiving too. It is my favorite holiday food. A piece of meat pie and a glass of egg nog puts me right back in my mother's kitchen!
