I lived in Sweden for many years and have to say that potato flakes, vanilla, and pearl sugar aren't used in or on authentic Lussekatter in Sweden. Generally pearl sugar is used on cinnamon buns. So if you really want to be authentic leave off the pearl sugar and enjoy the buns for what they are, perfect and delicious. Real Swedes don't go over the top with sugar.
