Oh boy, does this bring back memories... My family still reminds me of the time I made cornbread and mistook teaspoons for tablespoons for the baking powder. The batter fit in an 8x8 pan so you can imagine the ratio of baking powder to batter was pretty darn high. Made for an very interesting looking but inedible cornbread.
My other favorite was when my mother-in-law was making a cake and forgot the eggs until after it was in the oven. She pulled the pans out, cracked an egg into each pan and stirred it up. A good effort but it didn't save the cake!
