Oh, Mandy... how irritating! Maybe you could carefully cut the top crust around the perimeter, lift it off with a giant spatula, stir in more sugar while the filling's still hot, and set the crust back on? But the syrup does sound like a safer option. How about strawberry syrup? Good luck - PJH
