I am moving shortly so all my belongings from two residences are in my kitchen. I was making ginger molasses cookies and doubled the batch because I heard they were "almost addictive". I took the last swipes of the batter prior to putting on cookie sheets and YEUUCHHH! It was so salty! But , I thought, I didn't use any salt! Well, my sister who helped me move my stuff had put the contents of a glass jar into a crystal light container and labeled it gran sugar. That was about half the called for sugar, so I used that and added another 2 cups of sugar from the folger's coffee can (plastic) I used for it. Turns out what my sister had labeled gran sugar was SALT! I baked a few just in case it could be edible.....I spit it out. Even dunking didn't help. I thought, Dog biscuits? Horse treats? Gerbil or hamster chews? Can I rescue this any way, or should I dump it and start all over? H_E_L_P! Almost addictive? Only if you are the creature on StarTrek who had to have salt!
