Carolyn, I'm from Iowa and the old Super Valu chain offered the encyclopedia set at 1 book per week, I think it was, for around $3 and some odd cents apiece. Couldn't wait for the next book to come out so I could get all of them. Was always afraid I would miss one. Good way to get us into their stores often, wasn't it. My younger sister says she wants them when I'm no longer around but I plan on being around for a while yet. Don't mean to take up your blog space for trivia. Just wanted to add this as I have never heard of anyone else who purchased the set either. Guess we just aged ourselves somewhat. I'm 72 and my books are getting a bit ragged from 50 years of use.
