I made these right away and they're absolutely fabulous! They really do taste like the old fashioned cake doughnuts. I made a couple of tweaks to the recipe. I set the oven at 400 degrees, substituted half the flour with white whole wheat flour, added 1/4 tsp mace, and substituted 5 tablespoons of the milk with boiled cider. While they were still warm, I dipped the tops into the melted butter and then into the cinnamon sugar. This recipe is a keeper and will be at the top of my muffin list from now on! Thank you KAF!! I've discovered that if you make these in a mini muffin pan, and dip the entire mini in butter and roll in sugar, they're a perfect match for doughnut holes... Glad these have made it to the top of your list! PJH
